This webinar is designed for any counsellor or counsellor-in-training who wants to better understand best practices in this specialized world of fertility challenges. This training will help you gain confidence in sitting with these clients at all stages of their fertility journey.

About the Presenters: 

Alexandra and Ruth are the proud co-owners of Illuminate Counselling Ltd., a group practice based in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. What began as a friendship in graduate school, later become complementary private practices. Eventually Illuminate Counselling was born, and evolved from a passion project into a respected group practice, dedicated to offering relatable, high-quality counselling and accessible digital products. 

Alexandra and Ruth each brings with them their own area of specialty and unique journey, and are equally passionate about supporting individuals and couples through the challenging years of family planning, trying to conceive, loss, pregnancy, and postpartum. Both are Registered Clinical Counsellors with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and have taken advanced training through Postpartum Support International.

Alexandra Stewart, RCC, PMH-C

Alexandra has 10+ years of experience in the area of reproductive mental health, including supporting clients through fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum challenges.

She is transparent about her own experience of pregnancy loss, fertility challenges and treatments, and her personal journey to eventually becoming a mother. These experiences, combined with years of helping women and couples through challenging times, helps Alexandra’s clients feel an authentic connection and less lonely during an otherwise isolating experience.

Ruth Skutezky, RCC, PMH-C

Ruth has 10+ years of experience in the area of reproductive mental health, with a focus on relationships and couples, such as helping navigate times of transition, including fertility challenges, pregnancy and postpartum adjustment, as well as parenthood.

Ruth is a mother of 6 year-old twins, and can appreciate the challenges during this phase of life. From her own lived experience, combined with years of clinical work with individuals and couples, Ruth is passionate about helping guide clients as they transition into mothers and fathers.

Although we would be happy for you to attend the webinar live, it will also be recorded and be available to registrants following the presentation. 

"I already have a base level of knowledge around fertility challenges. Is this presentation for me?"

This presentation has been designed for the clinician who has less knowledge in this area, however even counsellors who have worked with fertility challenges can benefit from Alexandra and Ruth’s collaborative approaches and experience.

In order to support the ongoing professional development of student counsellors, new graduates, and low income professionals, we are offering this webinar at the low barrier cost of $50 CND + GST (prior to May 12th), regular price will be $80 + GST.

"Does this training provide CEs?"

This workshop is eligible for Continuing Education credits if you are a member of Postpartum Support International (PSI).

We are would be happy to see the faces of our attendees, but this is completely voluntary.
