About Ruth

Ruth’s clinical focus is working with adults and couples, especially those entering marriage, parenthood, or other times of transition, with a focus on prevention and education. She is committed to making the information learned in therapy more available to those who need it, as well as working to take the guess work out of the (often intimidating) prospect of going to counselling for the first time.

With Ruth, you can expect the process to be down-to-earth, solution-focused, and with a sense of humour. Outside of work, Ruth is chasing after her six-year-old twin boys.

In addition to her clinical work, Ruth has taught graduate level students and is passionate about helping to ‘launch’ new counsellors entering the field, by providing mentorship and support.

Ruth is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and has also taken advanced training in Perinatal Mental Health through Postpartum Support International.

Prior to full-time private practice, Ruth has provided counselling in a variety of settings, including Employee Assistance Programs (Homewood Health, Morneau-Shepell), Community Mental Health (Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, Fraser Health Authority), and Non-profit organizations.
