A HOLISTIC APPROACH
Alexandra’s Vancouver and North Vancouver-based counselling practice focuses on supporting individuals and couples on their journey to wellness, healing, and growth.
Her aim is to engage in meaningful work, to empower individuals in discovering their own ability to heal, and to guide individuals in the discovery of their inner wisdom. Her holistic mind-body approach brings a unique perspective to the therapeutic process, when available she draws upon biological, social, psychological, cultural, and spiritual influences.
Alexandra has an empathic and non-judgmental approach, which helps put clients at ease. She puts in the extra time and energy to create a welcoming environment and aims to make the counselling experience one that is rich and full of discovery.
Her professional journey
Alexandra began her journey in community agency work and shortly after joined the world of private practice on a part-time basis. After years of juggling both worlds, she recognized her passion was in owning her own business and focusing on the types of challenges she passionate in supporting. She also recognized the need for support in her community, especially in the field of women’s health. Part of Alexandra’s private practice is in Vancouver where she collaborates with Well Woman Counselling, an established counselling team focused on a wide range of mental health concerns. Alexandra also spends her time in North Vancouver where she works in collaboration with Daniel Stone & Associates.
Alexandra has had the great opportunity to work at BC Women’s Hospital in Vancouver. During her time here she worked in many different clinics specializing in women’s reproductive health counselling (i.e. pregnancy support, pregnancy loss, pregnancy decision-making, birthing trauma, infertility, perinatal & postpartum depression and anxiety).
Alexandra has had the pleasure of working with a variety of agencies in the Lower Mainland. She started her career working in substance use at Share Family Services. Most recently, Alexandra managed and facilitated the clinical counselling program at WorkBC, in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association and the YWCA. Her work there supported clients to develop tools and strategies in helping manage mental health challenges, which were impacting clients’ ability to access and/or maintain employment.

Alexandra’s philosophy
HEALING, BALANCE & NATURE
A strong believer in practicing what she preaches, when Alexandra isn’t with clients she aims to make the most of her downtime. From hiking in the North Shore mountains, cooking & enjoying good food, to spending time with friends and family, she tries to maintain a supportive work-life balance.
Alexandra moved from her home province of Alberta, to BC for her undergraduate degree and immediately fell in love with the West Coast. She believes in the concept of healing in nature (Biophilia Hypothesis), and living in Vancouver has provided a perfect environment to immerse herself in the healing powers of nature. This comes through in her counselling work – wherever possible she supports clients in connecting to something outside of themselves – which quite often for her West Coast clients is nature. Connect with Alexandra to learn more about this philosophy.
